Forward...
It is
with great pleasure and an honor to be asked to write a forward
for this wonderful book.
In the
pages of this book you will find, a pictorial history of the
breed in Yugoslavia. From its humble beginnings the breed has
grown and developed in this country, to its present day dogs
which can compete in any show ring in the world. The breed is
fortunate enough to have many knowledgeable and dedicated fanciers.
Whose temperaments are like AmStaffs themselves. Who have held
on tenaciously to promote the breed.
|
This
forward would not be complete without mentioning the problems
over breeding has caused in other parts of Europe.
We as the guardians of
this breed should take great care and diligence in protecting
them for our children and grandchilden to enjoy. Please think
before you breed about where your puppies are going, don’t
be part of the problem but part of the cure.I
would also like to take this oppertunity to applaud the author,
in all his hard work, to make this historical reference available
to us all. Enjoy!
Together with you in the
love of the breed

Rewiew...
Only
a few countries in the whole world have special books dedicated
to the Amstaff scene from their own ground, about nation's kennels,
breeders, champions, club winners, etc... All in all, every
intersting detail that can show what breeders from such and
such country worked on their ground.
Yugoslavia is a small country, settled on the south-east of
Europe, but also country whit a long and rich Amstaff history.
First Amstaffs came in Yugoslavia in 1981. And it was one of
the first countries in Europe that starts with Amstaffs.
|
But,
also, very interesting detail connecting for Yugoslavia, is
that it is a country whit 5 books about Amstaffs, written
in the native (serbish) language and issued from 1992 until
1997. This is also a small record, worth of attention, because
he shows that in Yugoslavia exist fanciers and lovers dedicated
to the breed. This is 6th book published in Yugoslavia about
Amstaffs and I think only americans have better Amstaffs library.
Milija Stankov is the Amstaff owner, breeder and first of
all, lover. He wrote his first book in 1997. It was "American
Staffordshire Terriers in Yugoslavia 1995 - 1996". He
continued whit my work, about collecting materials for Amstaffs
history in Yugoslavia. (For they who do not know, I wrote
a book "American Staffordshire Terriers in Yugoslavia
1981 - 1994"). In my foreword for Milija Stankov's first
book, I wished him to continue with his writers work and to
publish a new book for 2 years. He did it, I can say very
successfully. Even better! He done very important thing and
published new book in 2 languages, so now information's about
Yugoslavian Amstaffs are available to the wider auditorium
of breeders and lovers all over the world. "HATS OFF"!!!
The new book, as well as first book, is a full of information
about Amstaffs situation in Yugoslavia. You can find all officer
registered kennels, champions, youth champions, club winners,
international champions, plenty of photos and pedigrees in
5 generations, etc...
This is very important book for the history of the breed in
Yugoslavia, and value of this book will grow up with the time.
I wish to author to continue with his historical work and
to start new project about publishing new book "American
Staffordshire Terriers in Yugoslavia 1981 - 2001".
It will be a small jubilee, twenty years of Amstaffs in our
country.
